In the heat of suffering, sometimes we open our lips to say that the past was better than our present. In an act of madness we forget the bitterness and sadness and then confess that at that time everything was good.

We do not try to meditate on the words of Ecclesiastes, chapter 7, verse 10: Do not say, "Why are the days of the past were better than today?" For it is not wise to ask such questions What is the reason to choose the past as something good. ?

For a simple reason: we know it. We know the end of each story, from the beginning to the end. Looking ahead, it is unknown. Something that we can not interfere, because it's still a surprise box.

But Jesus tells us to leave the past behind. He does not deserve much credit. The sorrows of a broken marriage, the loss of a loved one tragically in an accident or even during a robbery, the company of resignation where both dedicated and as a reward received the neglect and the front door as a prize. Live the present. The future belongs to the Lord.
