People let go of the memory of good counsel and times of joy provided by the Lord. Do sit at the table on weekends for lunch and dinner next to the family reunited and contented. Of the walks, of the joy of being in the church worshiping Jesus Christ, immersed in the joy that only He can give.
It seems that good, shed by God upon his servants, causes nausea. Many seek shelter in the false glow offered by the dark looking good, but bringing evil inside only. After all, what explanation does it take for someone to leave the light to enter the darkness of prostitution, for example, when you have a beautiful marriage or embrace the dark world of drug addiction?
There are men and women who complain of the tedium of a relationship without confusion, a harmonious home, a healthy sex life, without any kind of perversion or any other kind of anomaly. It seems to these people that walking alongside Jesus is boring, because there is too much adrenaline, danger constantly hanging around.
I have heard a Christian say that standing in the presence of God is something very still. That is, the Peace of the Lord is not enough. It is necessary to dive into the arms of satan to find movement, as does the surfer entering the wild sea in search of high waves, even at the risk of drowning. It is the husband who complains of the very good woman or the woman who says that the husband is too calm, because he does not have the peaks of neurosis of the disturbed ones.
