God does not have the guilty innocent-2

* Luís Alberto Alves

As a young man, at age 33, the darkness took away Sam Cooke's talent. The copyrights of his songs to this day fill the coffers of his kinsman. The hit "You Send Me", recorded by countless singers, still plays in any dance in the Americas. But Cooke's mistake was playing with God. He imagined that he could deceive Satan and then try to deceive Jesus Christ with the celebrated phrase: "nothing to see Jesus."

But for lack of wisdom, many Christians do not read the Bible deeply, especially the book of Nahum, chapter 1, verses 2 and 3: "The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord is the Avenger and full of fury; the Lord taketh vengeance upon his adversaries, and keepeth wrath against his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger, but great in power, and he does not hold the guilty innocent; the Lord has the way in the storm and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. "

He is great in mercy and takes time to be angry, but he does not have the guilt for being innocent. It does not tolerate rebellion. When we do not know His commandments, He is kind in welcoming us and treating our wounds. But from the moment we begin to walk in their ways and resolve to flirt with the darkness and satisfy the will of Satan, the story changes course.

It is when He lets the darkness to approach and usually the end of the Christian or Christian that enters this path, is not good. That's what happened to Sam Cooke. He had money and fame, but he had lost his fellowship with God. He paid the price of sin, which is death. Maybe if you were in the ways of Jesus Christ, you would most likely die in old age, not just 33, feeling the pain of losing a small child in your own home.

We Christians need to understand that we can not play with God. Nor much less attraction to the dishes offered by satan. It is better to enjoy the manna offered by the Lord, for it is the source of life and joy. If we are weak, we should pray for strength to Jesus Christ to resist. Thus we will never be considered targets of shame before the Lord.
