It is famous the text written by Luke, chapter 10, verses 38/42, where it is narrated the visit of Jesus to the house of the sisters Marta and Maria. Martha worried about the housework, after all the Lord came with his disciples and needed to cook to attend to all, besides leaving the environment neat.
Already Mary sought to sit at Jesus' feet, to be close to Him. Because of this Martha told the Lord if He would not be worried about Mary leaving her alone. The master replied that his sister chose the best part: to be by her side!
Today we live in the 21st century, in a technological society, where it is possible to cook rice and other foods using electronics, when it is often possible to buy canned food in the supermarket for a few minutes in the microwave and everything is ready. The effort is minimal. Ironing is another task currently simplified, with sophisticated gadgets that steam removes any dough from the fabric.
Even with every step, to make life easier, we find reasons to leave Jesus aside. It seems that daily chores are more important. Just like chatting on social networks or questioning in WhatsApp. Everything is in the foreground, except the Lord. Sometimes we do not even remember to thank for the night's sleep when we get up in the morning.
