Christian is a police officer, journalist or doctor: he can always be asked for in an event of violence, someone who has gone bad in the plane or even in the store or in transit, or something unusual that will become a great story. How often, during a trip, in hotels or luxury inns is the sadness visible on the faces of some people. They are in that place to try to ward off the evil that tortures them.
But, like Martha, we leave the singing spiritual. The business is to forget the "mantle". Think of Jesus Christ only within the church during worship. Out of there, is to leave this task to the shepherds and other servants of God. We often use the excuse that our training is short! Imagine the driver acting that way after taking out his driver's license? You will never have the courage to face the traffic madness!
It seems that the closeness of Jesus causes us fear. Some even think that they will never be able to solve a problem, such as advising someone facing an internal war and thinking about taking their own lives. Imagine if the apostles of Christ had been locked indoors in Jerusalem, denied the call to preach the Gospel in that ancient world? We certainly would not be talking about Jesus nor would you read this text.
But they left the fear aside and set out on a mission to spread the Gospel of Jesus to all. The most curious thing about this story is that no apostle was concerned to write his experiences. Just to preach the Word. So much so that it took many years for the New Testament to be complete. Until 300 years after the death of Jesus Christ, only the Old Testament was known, after the gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, the epistles of Peter and the Apocalypse began to appear.
