I am the vine, ye are the branches ...

* Luís Alberto Alves

"I am the vine and the branches vois, without me you can do nothing," John 15/5. How much wisdom in these words of Jesus Christ! Which branch can stay alive after being plucked from the tree? For a time he can resist, but the arrival of drought, lack of water will kill him.

The same applies to the Christian away from Jesus. At the beginning everything will go smoothly. It appears the illusion that really came to enjoy life without the pew in church, daring and crazy drinking till you drop on the sidewalk, having sex with anyone, a clear sign of adultery. Anyway meat predominating in place of the Spirit.

 Far from the tree called Jesus Christ soon die in the dirt of sin. The empty again occupy the space lost by the beautiful and rich presence of the Lord in our lives. Drugs and drink will work as an escape valve to drive away the loneliness and sadness of defeats that will become routine.

 Even simple tasks will turn heavy bales. Even the simple act of working not get away from Christian the same affection as before. Soon forget the company where you earn a living. If you are married, the wife or husband goes to the streets in search of new and poisonous companies.

 Over time the green twig of old withered. The servant of the Lord, used to preach the gospel will gain as a company the emissaries of evil and to feel the hassle of making the dormitory streets. At this stage, the branch will be one step closer to fall into the fire and ashes. It is better to keep united the tree, which is Jesus Christ.
