And God Blessed Joseph in Egypt - 4

* Luís Alberto Alves

José was not given a chance to choose. He came to Egypt as a slave. In this class the person has no rights whatsoever. You must only obey. Otherwise he is tortured and depending on the failure, he ends up dying. Imagine the nights he went to sleep exhausted with fatigue and homesickness.

When looking at the Bible, we have the impression that everything happened quickly in Joseph's life. It took a long 13 years to reach the post of governor. Period that worked too much, with no right to make any kind of complaint. Just obey.

This does not mean that Joseph conformed. He just never lost his faith in God. So much so that he was blessed in everything he did. Even in prison, he was responsible for taking care of the incarceration. He gained the confidence of the prison board. How many times people, even believing in God, go blind in Egypt.

Even though he is present at church services, he suspects that the Lord will bless him by ending his captivity. Zombies live the same way. The body is present in the Church, but the heart is distant. He lost faith in the Lord's promises.
