From the days of Saul until today, this scene is repeated with different people. Some of them were born and raised in Christian homes. They knew Jesus, saw his move, his power, but pride and arrogance prevented them from obeying the Lord.
They prefer the false lights of the world, they refuse the banquet of God, they prefer the dishes of lentils, the quick moments of pleasure offered by the darkness to seduce.
They exchange the happiness of eternity for the false propaganda of hell. They believe that in the Judgment everything will be reversed. Not! The chance was lost here. On the Big Day, the judge will take the case and finish. The struggle to maintain salvation is fought in this world, every day.
This is where the opportunities are to review errors and look for correction. In the beyond there is no room for this. So, take advantage of the opportunities that God gives you every day.
Don't throw them away, you never know when your end will come. For Saul, it took 42 years, for others, 3, 5, 11, 22 or 31 years. Time to review concepts, return to obey, don't wait for God to reject you. Open your eyes first, getting out of the mud, abandoning the mistake.
Keep your eyes on the Lord, the finisher of eternal life. If Jesus rejects you, no one will do anything for you. Samuel cannot do anything for Saul.
